We stayed on Makunudu from the 3rd to the 20th April - we had an extended stay due to the 'eruption disruption' - how lucky we were!
Makunudu is a wonderful Island. It is very quiet and intimate, sometimes you find yourself wondering if there is anyone else around. The attention to detail is fantastic and the staff are extremely friendly and deliver a superb service.
Some of the things we loved about Makunudu are: snorkelling on the house reef; the fantastic dive centre and dive sites; the delicious food; the 'back to nature' feel of the island; being surrounded by trees, the outdoor bathroom, the local wildlife (herons, crabs, birds); the seclusion of your own hut with a view out to the sea and your own beach, loungers and deckchairs.
We definitely recommend Makunudu and will always remember it as a very special place. We got engaged there on the beach walking up to see the sunset.
